It was a pretty dull day with clouds rolling in at low altitudes and we couldn’t see anywhere remotely near the peak. Now, I know there is a train that can take you up Mount Snowdon but come on, you’re really not going to find a picture by taking the train. So instead I decided to lug all of my camera gear with me, just on the off chance that I could capture the shot. Really, this was more of an exploration for future visits.
The journey up provided the best shots; as you can see by the photo below, the weather at the peak meant that there wasn’t really much opportunity for photographs apart from the obligatory “We made it!” pose.
And on a side note, it is always good to take your dog with you as he will pull you up when you start flagging, no matter how small the hound!
Since this visit I have returned, tackling more adventurous routes (without the kids and dog), planning views and even camping spots! Yes, I intend to camp on the mountain so that I can get a sunrise picture without having to climb in the pitch black and cold.
Great pictures vary rarely come without a bit of planning.
